About Us
 As big business replaces the
independent producer, our choice as consumers is reduced. We will soon be left with no alternative but to buy the
poor quality, mass produced imports, or the pesticide covered, genetically modified, bland unappealing products that fill our supermarket
shelves. Next time you're at the supermarket, take a closer look at that jam jar with a frilly doily covered lid to reveal the
true origin of the product is far from the hand drawn cottage printed on the label.
Why LocalProducts.co.uk?
In 2002 I lived in a rural area and was unable to find any locally produced honey
so this led me to produce this site to help myself and others searching for arts, crafts
and produce in their local areas.
I wanted to buy products that were made by the local farmers, growers and crafts people in my area.
I know I'm not alone in my search for locally produced items. Over 1000 people a week
look at this site, so please add your product and help them too.
We are constantly trying to improve this site and it search engine rankings
(search Google for 'local products', we usually rank No.1) and long time supporters of this site
will know that this is the third major design improvement since 2002.
There are thousands of people selling top quality local products of all kinds and thousands more who would
like to buy them. I hope to provide a place for the two to meet.
